February 2008. I spot a new Facebook event at random, in the news feeds. A "French Kiss Chain", announces the page that relays the invitation.
I go on the spot the day D, without any contact and without knowing what I will find there. On a quai de Seine in Paris, dozens of couples line up. A man asks people to be ready. A team, including a cameraman, waits for his go in front of the first couple. I approach and mingle with this group, while being discreet, despite my wide angle lens.
The performance starts in the middle of the crowd, the couples are filmed one after the other kissing. As if I were part of the device, I place myself very close to the cameraman and move quickly at the same time as him, trying not to hinder his progress. Each time, I have one or two seconds to trigger and take advantage of the artificial lighting, deployed close to the video camera.
A few minutes later, the event came to an end, everyone applauded and dispersed, as if nothing had happened.
